2018 Conklin Raiders Gold

Season in Review

Fall ball seems far in the past…and winter sessions seem like so long ago! It certainly does all happen so quickly! And now, our summer season is already over.

Reviewing our summer season, WOW is what comes to mind looking at some of our team’s accomplishments. We played 50 games this season, with only 17 losses versus some of the top teams in the country. In that, we played the 2017 PGF National Champion, 2017 ASA Gold National Champion, and Triple Crown #1, #5, and  #8 team in the country. In addition, we also played 10 teams in the TCS National Top 50. Ladies, you improved every single game, even against the top talent. Great Job!

We also had some incredible individual stats. We had a Raider pitcher throw nearly a perfect game twice.  Also, 3 one hit games and 4 complete game shutouts. Good Stuff! We had another player hit three homeruns in a game! Nice Job!

Our team as a whole hit 39 homeruns this summer. That’s a lot of dingers!

All in all, it was an outstanding season, but it couldn’t have been so without our two seniors, Chloe Van Gorder and Mariah Culver. Raiders Forever! I want to express my deepest gratitude. You were a large part of the team’s overall success, as well as the overall development of our younger players. Remember what Coach E says, “It’s not about the journey, it’s the destination that counts.” Well if that’s true, Stony Brook and Caldwell are up next! Good luck in college and thank you for finishing your Raider journey with us!

The Right Way. The Only Way. The Raider Way!

Coach Bates

P.S. Coach Cook, thanks for having the faith in my abilities many years ago!

2018 Conklin Raiders Gold Summer Camp

It was hard to say whether the Conklin Raiders Gold players or the campers were having more fun this year at our 3-day camp. There were countless smiles on both sides of the drills.

The days were full of activities and drills supported by players of past and present!

In three short days, we all became sisters! Thank you to all the campers that gave it their all this year. A special thank you to Forever Raiders and Coaches Cara Martin, Elena Shelepak, and Michaela Transue for their positivity and expertise at camp!  Go Raiders!

CR Commits

Conklin Raiders Gold Pitcher and Centerfielder #3, Wendi Hammond

Most summer days, you can find Wendi Hammond of Waverly, New York throwing a pitch, be it in the circle or in her backyard. Other days, she can be found leaping fences in a single bound to rob someone of a homer in centerfield. Very recently, she hit three homers herself in a single game. Well, all of her hard work has paid off!

This first team all-state selection in Class B, has committed to Division 1 University of Albany! You get what you put in, and Wendi is very deserving of this accomplishment. She has earned it the Raider way!

Congratulations, #3! Continue to do great things!

Conklin Raider Gold Infielder #77, Shayna Myshrall

Protecting our corners and hitting dingers is Shayna Myshrall, of Dewitt, NY.  Her positive attitude and work ethic are driving forces on our team!

Shayna not only works tirelessly on the field, but also off the field at Jamesville-Dewitt High School!

Shayna has committed to continue working on the softball and academic balance that she makes seem so effortless at Division 1 Niagara University in the fall!

We are so very proud of you, 7s! The sky is the limit!

Conklin Raiders Gold Outfielder #88, Emma Adams

Look in the Conklin Raiders Gold outfield and you will see Emma Adams, of Sayre, PA, making diving catches and hear her cheering on her teammates.

Emma has put in many early hours at the gym. She has tirelessly attended batting lesson after batting lesson. And through all of her hard work, she pushes her self a little harder.

Her dedication to the Raider way and positive attitude has led her to commit to continuing her education and softball career at Division 1 University of Albany!

Way to go, #88! Best of luck!
